Becoming a Vegan can Help the Fight Against Racism, Lecturer Claimed

At Cornell University, a Columbia University adjunct lecturer claimed that by going vegan, people can start the fight against racism directed toward non-white people. The lecture was given by Christopher-Sebastian McJetters in late February 2018.
By going vegan, or in other words, abstaining from eating animal meat and dairy products, people can “resist the violence associated with the subjugation and oppression of nonwhite groups.”
Part of his speech also made the following claim:
“What we do to other animals informs how we treat one another on this planet, and it is always — always — someone who doesn’t have institutional power, and they’re usually brown.”
He argued that before the 1500s, people “didn’t actually think of human as superior to or separate from everyone else in the animal kingdom.”
