Huma Abedin files for divorce after Anthony Weiner pleads guilty in sexting case

Huma Abedin, a top aide to former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, filed for divorce from Anthony Weiner on Friday, the same day the disgraced former New York congressman pleaded guilty to a charge that he sent sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old girl, the New York Post reported.
According to the Post, Abedin brought an “Anonymous vs. Anonymous” action in Manhattan Supreme Court and asked the court to seal the case.
Abedin announced her separation from Weiner in August after a report surfaced that Weiner had exchanged explicit messages with a different woman while lounging in bed next to the couple’s young son. The couple reportedly attempted to reconcile in the aftermath of the scandal.
Weiner pleaded guilty Friday to sending explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl last year. The girl, who has not been identified, told the Daily Mail last September that Weiner knew she was underage while they communicated.
